What are Motivational Strategies?

Life is a game, and every other thing which is a part of life is also a part of this game, and to fare well in this game called life, one needs to sketch proper plans.

Only planning also does not help; execution is another important factor which if done aptly can assure you of your victory.

Hence, the key to lead a successful life is making strategies. It is true that life does not necessarily follow the schemed path, but if and when strategies are made, then those lend support and save the person from getting lost in the whirlpool of despair and oblivion.

This was just a general view, but in life, certain turns come where you will have to strategize to hold onto your strong and firm footing.

Pangs of modern life

Everything has its pros and cons. Similar is the case of modern day lifestyle. In today’s time, technology, social media is quite in vogue where people are so eager to potentiate that they tend to become superficial and forget to delve deep which results in loneliness or alienation from one’s self and also from others.

When loneliness combines with the failure of any kind (personal or public) then it becomes a deadly combination and gives rise to despair, disappointment and if more severe, depression, etc., which might lead a person towards the wrong direction.

To cope up with these sort of negativities in life, one requires rejuvenation, push, inspiration, a motivation which helps to fight back and again strive for something which is tough to get but not impossible.

Motivation Mantra

It is clearly understood that motivation is a very important thing. It can make or break a person and also can guide him towards his life goal, but the concept of ‘motivation’ has more layers to it. It is a force that compels a person to perform. It is an innate feeling which exerts pressure on the individual from the inside and forces the person to climb the stairs of excellence. Motivation is a driving force that provides the person with the required objective which keeps the person going. It is at once the cause and also the effect and an undeniable power with immense impact.

Many people have passed many theories regarding motivation and its types, but very few are acceptable as not every story applies to every condition. Because every person has a different reaction at the same moment or different moments, so the Motivation should also be different.

Motivation is a reason that gives the individuals permission to act or behave in a particular manner in a particular moment. It colours the behaviour of an individual and thereby has a say in building the personality of the man. One thing is for sure that, motivation helps a lot, to achieve the goal and when this sense of achievement is there then it urges the person to achieve more which ultimately hints at the increase in productivity.

Whom to motivate?

The truth is every person requires a bit of motivation be that provides from within or from without. For excelling in something, the moral support is a necessary thing. Performances are highly affected by motivations and when so happens, then the productivity is also impacted upon.

Motivational Results

Now, if productivity is concerned, then the motivation should be pointed at the employees who play an important role in increasing the amount of production. There are other performers as well in the fields of sports, educations, etc. whose works are also to be considered as a product as they also require motivation. But here, while keeping in mind the greater benefit, the performers are strictly job oriented i.e. the employees who if provided with proper motivations will shine brightly.

It is the duty of the manager or employer, who has hired the employees to provide them with comfortable working situations and ambience so that they can work peacefully and therefore produce more. So, in this case, it is better to strategize that how to motivate these people to get out their best?

The Strategies

Previously said, motivation leads to a specific kind of behaviour and this motivation and behaviour differs from person to person and therefore strategizing won’t help much. But then again, certain basic strategies can be observed and applied for the welfare of the performers/ employees:

Trusting their abilities:

Everyone tries to keep their best foot forward, and when such is the condition, then the company needs to trust its employees and help them in all possible ways. The moment a company rests the trust in its employee, the latter feels pumped, takes on responsibility and gives its best shot. This also means giving power to the employee which signifies a transfer of responsibility. This makes the employee all the responsible and prepares the shoulder for more such affairs.

Rewarding them:

The best way to pep someone up is by gifting them. Reward means a token of appreciation which at once acknowledges the past achievements and also prepares for the future expeditions. Rewards can be of any kind- medals, trophies, certificates or simple praises and recognition of talent. But apart from these, another way of rewarding is prevalent in the office world, and that is giving time-outs, referring important projects, giving promotions or simply increasing the salary. All these are means by which an employee can be motivated.

Offering flexible timings:

An employee might find it difficult to work in a fixed period, but you don’t want to leave him as he is a gem. Then what you can do is flex the timetable. Without hampering the work, the timetable can be redesigned to kerb the boredom and also increase family time.

Bottom line

With great power comes great responsibility and comes stress but that does not mean, one needs to sweat continuously in the burden of thoughts. Letting your people free to enjoy is very important as a stressed mind can’t work well and all work makes Jack a dull boy. Hence, no worry; be merry!
