In the course of life, the only thing that is certain is the presence of obstacles. No path runs smooth entirely rather every path faces a resistance or other in the form of obstacles. But these obstacles are not impediments that kerb the progress instead these are the grounds that test a person and his/her temperament towards life and give a push.
You cannot expect your life to be a bed of rose buds and if you so want to take in the fragrance of rose, then you should also be prepared to taste the thorns as well. To achieve a little good, you will have to go through a bit of hardship. And once, you succeed to overcome the obstacles; you will find a confidence that will mould you for further success.
How to overcome obstacles?
The best way to get rid of any problem is by facing it head on. So, when your road is blocked by obstacles, you don’t procrastinate or run away; you pull your sleeves up and make your moves to remove that obstacle. Each obstacle can be regarded as an opportunity that leads you to a better position.
There are quite a few ways with which you can manipulate the situation and take it in your stride and make the most out of it.
Here are some ways to overcome obstacles:
#1 Everything is in the mind
The first and foremost thing that a person needs to do is to change the perspective. The mind is the storehouse of will, and when the will is strong, nothing can go wrong. So, if you look at the obstacle and can think that it is possible for you to overcome it, then you will surely be able to do it.
#2 Be Optimistic
Even when the glass appears to half empty, be thankful that it is half full. This optimistic attitude of yours will help you immensely. When your thoughts are not clouded by negative notions, and you can look at the bright side of the life, then you will be able to think clearly and find out ways.
When you choose to search for good, when you decide to give life a chance, then it presents you with ways that help you to reach your goals. Optimism builds up confidence.
#3 Acceptance
You need to acknowledge the existence of the problem. Once you do that, then the fear subsides. We always fear what we cannot fathom but the moment you accept that there is a problem, you are accepting its physical presence, and when you can grasp it, then you can also overcome it. Hence, never neglect or ignore your obstacles. Accept and face it boldly.
#4 Act
When you accept all the challenges that life offers and are positive enough about your success, then the next thing you should do is act. All thoughts and no action won’t take you anywhere. So, if you want to cross the hurdles, you need to do that physically, you just can’t sit, daydream and feel complacent about it. Be active, be in motion.
#5 Fall but Fly
It is quite obvious that you won’t be able to succeed at the first go. You will fail, you will fall, but that does not mean you will stop trying. Always aspire to fly, always strive for excellence, because if you don’t make sky your limit, you will never be able to take off from the ground.
Moreover, underneath the cover of failure, you will find the seeds of success. The things for which you failed are the same things which if presented properly will stand for your accomplishment. So, learn from your mistakes but don’t give up.
#6 Don’t jump steps
Jumping steps might sound fun and quick, but not everything should be achieved in a hurry. Instead, look at your obstacle, analyse the present situation, do the needful and follow the course. The moment you stop worrying about the entire action and approach part by part, you lessen your stress and increase your working capacity. Never contemplate more, do what seems right at that moment and take the call.
#7 Improvise
Facing your obstacles does not always mean facing them bluntly. You should always use your brain and think. If you find you are not adequate for a head-on fight, you improvise and think of other ways using which your mean can be achieved. This might take more time but then again it will boost your confidence and restore your faith in yourself.
#8 Sit and See
You do not always need to be the active part of every action. You can also manipulate your opponent or obstacle and use it against itself and for you. This is a smart way of making most of an adverse situation.
#9 Seize the moment
An extension of the previous step is seizing the moment and moulding it according to your need. When you cannot turn the obstacle against itself, you use that situation in the best way you can. A clear insight and a sharp intellect will help you to seal this deal.
#10 Think less but think wide
The best way to utilise any obstacle is by shifting your concentration from yourself to something greater. The moment you stop restricting the thoughts to yourself, you get to see the big picture and think more vividly. And sometimes, through helping others, you might find your way out.
#11 Remembrance
Getting dejected and depressed after seeing an obstacle is common but that is not the end of life, and it should never be so. Instead, you should keep all these points and approach the obstacle in all possible ways and try to turn it into an opportunity that provides you with the needed fuel for your journey. If you have your goals set and are desperate to reach your dream destination, then no hindrance can harm your intentions.
So, shape your mind and attitude, challenge your challenges and see how you emerge victorious in every feat of life!
