5 Ways to Destroy Limiting Beliefs

Everything is linked to our mind, what we perceive and how we interpret the perceptions.

5 Ways to Destroy Limiting Beliefs

In this article, we will take the initiative to reprogram your brain and destroy limiting beliefs.

1) Understanding Reality around You

Destroying limiting beliefs sounds easier than done, right? But if you know the ‘right way’, it can be quite easy. The first step is to realise that your beliefs aren’t liberating, to realise that your beliefs are stunting your growth. In life, we take a lot of actions under the pretext of assumptions.

Our assumptions aren’t always the reality. It is a façade that needs to be removed in order to cull limiting beliefs. S

2) We can be anyone we want.

Remember, how when we were little kids, parents told us we can do anything and be anyone we want, right? The thought used to give us an unimaginable sense of exhilaration. As we grew up, the feeling subsided and was replaced by fears, replaced by an attitude to make excuses against what we can’t do what we want.

I am sure many of you reading this can understand this situation. Some people are so morally down that they think they can’t do anything.

Wake up! Do not spoil your life. Regain that sense of exhilaration and the exuberant joy imagining you can achieve anything. If you never try, you have truly failed, failed big time!

3) Winners vs. Losers

The fear of failure often makes us quit even before we have tried. People think winners never fail but the fact is opposite. A person can’t be a winner if he/she hasn’t failed in life. Success is not defined by how much you have won; it is also defined by what you have lost in the journey towards success.

Winners and Losers

Therefore, stop believing that only losers fail, even a winner can fail. Cultivate the attitude to surpass minor disappointments and surge ahead with élan.

4) Keep trying.

Not trying to achieve is perhaps the worst of all. How can you know whether you are worthy of anything or not if you haven’t tried it? Success is a journey and no matter how many times you fail, you have to continue the journey. It is a learning experience that most people avoid indulging in because of the fear of failure and complacency to even try achieving it.

The self limiting beliefs force the mind into thinking that you’re worth it or you’re inferior. But see – these beliefs are self-created. In fact, why would you even want to think about yourself in a negative way?

Remember that the mind is a very powerful machine. The machine outputs based on what is given as input. If all you give it are negative thoughts, your life is going to be surrounded by negativity.

5) Remove toxic people from life.

You will find it interesting to know that our limiting beliefs are not the result of what we think but of the thoughts given to us.

For instance, if someone says: “You’re dumb”, you interpret is as “I am stupid, good for nothing and hopeless person”. First, you didn’t even think why the person told you this. Maybe, the person was being vengeful and wanted to hurt you. Second, you took what the person said as fact and internalized it, sending the brain signals that you’re dumb! Now, how dumb can be this be?

You’re not alone. Millions of people think like this. What you need to do is throw such toxic people out of your life and cultivate faith in yourself. The main thing is to have faith and belief in you.

Evaluate Yourself

You have to make efforts to reprogram your brain and destroy limiting beliefs. Learn to love yourself, cull negative feelings, strop being fearful and have firm faith in yourself. Easier said than done but others have done it through eons of time and so, why can’t you?
