In the eyes of society testosterone has been demonized and associated as the rage-inducing hormone that has made guys massive, and filled with aggression. Thanks to guys like Barry bonds and Mike McGuire, testosterone can also be associated to cheating.

The truth is, the myth behind testosterone needs to be debugged. Testosterone is a hormone that brings out the masculinity in men.

There are many myths surrounding testosterone, but the truth of the matter is that high natural levels of testosterone will help you build more muscle, help you reduce body fat, your risk of cancer, disease, and depression. A study at the University of California at Los Angeles by Christina Wang shows that men with low testosterone levels were given a two-month treatment to bring the testosterone to normal levels had shown a decrease in anger and agitation as their sense of optimism, joy of life and friendship heightened.

Testosterone is literally what makes a man a man, and over the past decades, studies has shown that men are producing lower levels of this powerful hormone. Not only is the environment part of the blame, but a reduction of fat consumption in their diet, an increasingly inactive population combined with stress, alcohol and substance abuse are causing men to produce lower levels of testosterone.
By modifying your lifestyle and diet you can raise your natural level of testosterone. By doing so not only will you increase your body’s ability to gain lean athletic muscle but also your ability to live a healthier more productive energetic life both physically and mentally while at the same time reducing body fat, your risk of cancer, disease and depression.

Here is a simple guide to naturally enhance your testosterone levels. (Men Only).
While doctors and nutritionists and so-called health gurus blame fat, as the cause for obesity in America, the truth of the matter is that saturated, monounsaturated, and probably saturated fats won’t make you fat. On the other hand sugars and carbohydrates, trans fats (man-made fats, hydrogenated oils, corn syrup, high fructose) are the cause of obesity, heart disease and diabetes, rather than healthy natural fats. All sugars, and white carbohydrates need to be completely eliminated for a healthy diet in order to naturally help boost your testosterone levels.

By adopting simple and healthy changes in your lifestyle and diet you will be able to raise your testosterone levels naturally. By doing so you will not only increase your body’s ability to lose weight and gain muscle but also your ability to live a healthier energetic life both physically and mentally.
In order to increase your testosterone levels, you need to eat more eggs, red meat fish fruits including avocado and nuts. Buy increasing natural sources of fat in your diet; your intestine will be converting cholesterol into testosterone. The cholesterol comes from the fat previously mentioned.

In order to increase testosterone levels you must not consume carbohydrates and fats together. Buy consuming high glycemic carbohydrates with fat you are causing a spike in insulin which makes you store more fat as body fat and carbs as body fat as well. I must strongly emphasize to stay away from trans fats (man-made fats) found in packaged goods, canned goods and fried goods as much as possible.

Another important factor to increasing your testosterone levels is to increase your level of sleep and decrease stress in your life. There is a hormone called cortisol, which opposes testosterone. A lack of sleep can result in higher cortisol levels and therefore lowering testosterone levels. In retrospect the less sleep we get, the more we stress which then increases our cortisol levels.

I can’t emphasize the importance of reducing stress in your life. A good way to do this is by exercising in the morning and to try to eliminate all conflicts whether it is work, family, financial, or health. A good way to eliminate stress is to take mini vacations and to withdrawal from a hectic lifestyle.

Our environment can also be very destructive to our testosterone levels. Most chemicals found in plastic [namely BPA] are filled with chemical estrogen. When buying bottled water you must make it your number one priority to make sure that the plastic bottles are (BPA FREE) if not the water will be contaminated with chemical estrogen. A quick way to solve this problem is to stop drinking water from plastic bottles and to never heat your food in plastic containers. Make it simple; avoid all plastics, which will allow your body to naturally increase your testosterone to higher levels.

Lifting Weights is another sure way to increase your testosterone level. By exercising with weights you will increase your muscle mass and lower your body fat levels. Lowering your body fat correlates to higher testosterone levels. Decreasing your body fat and increasing your muscle mass through weight training combined with a healthy diet is a sure way to increase your testosterone to the next level.
Not only will you aesthetically look better, but through a combination of weight training, better diet (increase good Fat and decrease Sugar) and surrounding yourself in a healthy environment, you will not only increase your testosterone levels, look better, feel better, but also increase your positive outlook in life.

Two supplements that you need to take in order to help you increase your testosterone are Vitamin D3, which unbinds hormone from the protein it’s attached to and Zinc. Zinc blocks the hormone aromatase from producing estrogen. Zinc lowers your estrogen levels, which will help you maximize your testosterone output. Supplement vitamin D3 with 3,000 IU daily. Zinc no more than 35 mg / daily.
