6 Steps to End Laziness

We all have heard at some point of our life the adjective ‘lazy, ‘ and most often we have used the excuse of ‘laziness’ to shrug off responsibilities, least knowing how intense the effects of this apparently silly ‘disease’ is. Yes indeed, laziness is a disease which is at once physical, mental and behavioral and needs proper care otherwise it may lead to other severe problems like depression.

There are quite a few ways prescribe-able with which a person suffering from laziness can turn around. But before stating the ways, we first must understand the type and nature of laziness or what it is.

Laziness

Laziness is the urge to stay back and distance oneself from all kinds of activities. It has nothing to do with inability rather it is about intentional inactivity. One has the aptitude to do work but simply does not want to toil. This refusal though can be regarded at first as childishness, but actually, it is a serious problem of adulthood and needs to be addressed properly, to live a healthy lifestyle. Over here, six such points are to be discussed which might prove helpful to shape your life if you are a sufferer from laziness.

1] Shape up your mind

As we know, everything is in mind; it can make a good place/work seem evil and vice versa. And so your mindset is the first thing you need to work on. If you keep on procrastinating, it might keep your brain cells active, but ultimately it won’t do you any good. You cannot dwell in your shell of sadness and sulk.

You might not feel like doing something but if you keep on submitting yourself to that then in no time ‘something’ will become ‘anything’!

So, ask yourself, what is it that is keeping you from being active. Look for the answer within you and then shape your mind accordingly. Think positive; Be active.

2] Shape up your life

If you are pondering, how you can drive your mind to the right direction, then here comes the solution. To groom your mind, you need to embrace a well-groomed lifestyle. You need to indulge in exercise, however small it be. It can be walking, jogging, climbing stairs, etc. You need to stay in motion so that brain captures that and forces you to continue that state of activity.
You can also listen to peppy music as it can transmit the happy vibes thereby making you awakened and active. You can also modify your environment to brighten up your weary soul.

3] Lead a healthy life

Before pushing yourself to such excessive works, you need to be sure of the fact that you can pull that off. To feel fresh and energetic, you should refresh yourself properly. You need to have a solid 8 hours of sleep. Otherwise, drowsiness will make you lazy.

With ample amount of sleep, minimal free hand exercise (just to stay fit), care of your hygiene and health (washing, bathing, etc.), you will have to pay attention to your diet. You need to eat right, both qualitatively and quantitatively as food is the source which will provide you with the necessary energy to carry on with all your works.

4] Knowing the work and utilizing the time

The best way to kill laziness is to make a plan and work according to it. Firstly, list all the works that you need to be done with. Do not ignore the works which you hate. Begin with the works which you like and slowly proceed to those which you abhor. Once you completed this listing, break up your time into small intervals and assign yourself with the listed works.

Now, you have a routine to follow to finish up works in given amount of time. This will act as a stimulus and will challenge you to give your best shot! You need to prioritize your time and work, and to do that, you need to remind yourself of your dormant passion. The moment you succeed to complete all your chores, you will find a sense of compliance and pleasure.

5] People that matters

It is also said that you are as good as the circle that surrounds you. So, surround yourself with positive and productive people. People who are not only good to/for you but also bring out the best in you. These people might inspire you to work or can give you the needed push to follow your dream.

Moreover, if you are confused and do not which way to go, ask for help from these people. Interactions might open new avenues for you and help you to grow. Or this can be the exact opposite. You might end up being someone else’s inspiration, and this will boost your confidence.

6] You and Yourself

Among all these, one thing is for certain that you need to pull up your socks. Others might help you, but it is you who needs to decide and do all the work. You need to love yourself, enjoy your company, motivate yourself and finally push yourself. You are an adult and so will have to take up your responsibility and perform them with great elan.

You will naturally prefer to laze around, but it is then you need to cheer yourself up and force the work.

Bottomline

Quite a few way outs have been proposed here, but undoubtedly, the best suggestion to get over laziness is to be active! You need to live these few transitory moments in such a way that they become memories and to do so, you should abandon being a couch potato.

Search your goals and paths leading to those and then try to accomplish the same. Various more options might be there to increase your interest to work, but these are the one which you need to think about in the first hand.

So, lose laziness and unleash the activist in you!
